How this platform uses AI

This page covers Jason (the AI Tutor), the model that will power it, and how Kelias satisfies its own EU AI Act Article 4 obligations as a deployer.

Current state

What is live now

This marketing site does not use AI. No AI generates or personalises content on these pages. No AI processes visitor data. The site is a static Next.js application deployed on Vercel.

The learning platform (Jason, adaptive pathways, competence reports) is in pre-launch development. This page describes how the platform will use AI when it launches, so institutional buyers and learners can review it before committing.

Jason: AI Tutor

Article 52 disclosure

EU AI Act Article 52 requires that users interacting with an AI system are told they are doing so. This is that disclosure.

What Jason is

Jason is an AI system, not a human. It runs on a large language model API. Every interaction within the learning platform identifies Jason as an AI. There is no context in the platform where Jason presents as human.

What Jason does

Jason answers questions as learners work through each module, explains why assessment answers are correct or incorrect, and gives feedback on sandbox exercises. Jason does not determine learner progression. Assessment scores do.

What model powers Jason

Jason will be powered by a third-party large language model API. The specific provider will be named on this page at platform launch. The model provider will process conversation data under their own data processing terms, which will be listed in the platform privacy notice at launch. Conversation data will not be used to train third-party models without explicit user consent.

Jason's limitations

Jason can produce inaccurate outputs. This is not a boilerplate disclaimer. It is the same limitation the curriculum teaches learners to identify and manage in every AI system they use at work. Where Jason's output conflicts with module content, the module content is authoritative. Learners are told this at the start of every module.

Article 4 self-compliance

Kelias as an AI deployer

Kelias deploys AI systems and has its own Article 4 obligation. The table below documents that compliance.

Risk classification

The intake assessment

Kelias's intake assessment routes learners to content pathways based on their existing knowledge. Under EU AI Act Annex III, AI systems that assess the appropriate level of education for a person and materially influence the training they receive may be classified as high-risk.

We are seeking legal advice on whether the intake assessment triggers this classification. It adapts the learning pathway but does not gate access to the platform, issue formal qualifications, or influence employment or procurement outcomes. This page will be updated when that review is complete, before the platform goes live.

Disclosed before platform launch. If the assessment is classified as high-risk, the platform will not go live until conformity requirements are met.

This page is updated when the platform's AI configuration changes, when new systems are deployed, or when regulatory guidance affecting these disclosures is published.
